How to differentiate between fungal and bacterial diseases
Fungal diseases can be divided into lower fungi and higher fungi. The main symptoms are as follows:
1. Lesions will appear on the leaves, stems and other parts of diseased plants;
2. There is usually a layer of mold on the lesions, some like cotton wool, some like mushrooms, and some are accompanied by small black spots;
3. By smelling the infected area, no foul odor is produced.
Fungal diseases can harm food crops, cash crops, fruits, vegetables, etc., such as downy mildew, damping-off, late blight, powdery mildew, anthracnose, rust, etc.
Bacterial diseases are generally prone to occur under high temperature and high humidity conditions. The main symptoms are as follows:
1. After crops are infected with bacterial diseases, lesions will also appear, but there is no mold layer on the lesions;
2. Bacterial diseases can cause leaf blight, ulcers, yellowing, dwarfing, etc. in crops;
3. After the crops are infected, they will rot according to the severity;
4. By smelling the infected area, you will find a strong stench.
Bacterial diseases harm many crops, similar with fungal diseases, they include food crops, cash crops, fruits, vegetables, etc., such as bacterial wilt, leaf blight, canker, soft rot, angular leaf spot, etc. are all bacterial diseases.
