  1. Introduction

The compound product of pymetrozine and thiamethoxam combines their different mechanisms of action to improve the effect of preventing and controlling rice planthoppers.

The mechanism of action of pymetrozine is mainly by interfering with the function of insect mouthparts. When pests feed on plant tissues treated with pymetrozine, their stylets will be blocked, causing the pests to be unable to eat normally and then starve to death. This Special control methods can help reduce the risk of pests becoming resistant to pesticides.

Thiamethoxam is a neonicotinoid insecticide that has strong gastrotoxic activity against pests, that is, it can effectively kill pests after oral ingestion, and because of its relatively low toxicity, it has less impact on non-target organisms. It is small and has a long lasting effect, which can provide protection for a long time.

Therefore, the combined use of pymetrozine and thiamethoxam can not only improve the control efficiency of rice planthoppers, but also delay the development of insecticide resistance and achieve more lasting and effective pest control.
