Corn is one of the main food crops, widely planted, and has a very important strategic position. However, if weeds in corn fields are not properly controlled, it is very easy to cause corn production reduction and affect food security. Corn field herbicides are the focus of many pesticide companies. Here is a statistical data on corn field herbicides newly approved for registration in China this year for reference.

According to the China Pesticide Information Network, there are 88 newly registered cornfield herbicides in 2024, including 65 mixed formulations and 23 single formulations.

There are 6 types of dosage forms, with the largest number of OD, reaching 48, 18 SC, 12 SE, and less than 10 registrations for the remaining dosage forms, as shown in the figure below.

The active ingredient with the largest number of registrations is 42 for Topramezone , followed by Atrazine, Terbuthylazine, Nicosulfuron, etc., involving a total of 16 types.

Corn is an annual monoecious and cross-pollinated plant with tall plants and strong stems. It is an important food crop and feed crop, as well as the crop with the highest total output in the world.
